UK Markets (Markets in England, Scotland & Wales)
The world famous Ashton Market is situated right in the heart of Tameside. With over 140 stalls, the range is enormous and the atmosphere electric! Here, you will find a whole array of tempting bargains, including clothes, electrical goods, bedding, fruit and vegetables, and household items, to name but a few!
Each trading day at Billingsgate Market offers buyers an opportunity to see the largest selection of fish in the United Kingdom. Daily arrivals from the coast and overseas ensure a continuity of fresh supplies and with some 54 merchants trading in close proximity in the Market Hall, competition is keen. In addition to such a wide selection of fish and fish products, the Market offers buyers a comprehensive service with tenants dealing in poultry, cooking oils, potatoes, trade sundries and specialist restaurant and catering supplies.
Borough Market, London's best gourmet food market, is the winner in a poll of "Totally London" experiences, nominated by the public. Borough Market boasts both a young successful gourmet food retail market working alongside an older established wholesale market. We'll be surprised if you can't find any food product here to suit your liking!
Six busy open-air and indoor markets, each with its own distinctive flavour, line a street of shops, bars and restaurants in Camden Town, North West London.
The Markets provide a showcase for a wide range of locally cultivated produce, with everything from organic vegetables to ostrich meat and baking to beef.
On your journey of discovery around The Magical World of Fantasy Island you will find Europe's largest indoor and outdoor market adjoining the theme park. An attraction in its own right, it draws customers from all round the county and beyond, holiday makers mingling with the locals who know just where to find the best bargains.
If you want food as fresh as it can be, visit Scottish Power Edinburgh Farmers' Market on the first and third Saturdays of every month throughout the year. The market takes place on Castle Terrace under the dramatic skyline of Edinburgh Castle, from 9am - 2pm. The market attracts over 40 specialist producers from as far a-field as Inverness and Northumberland.
The majority of stallholders are primary producers, in that they grow what they sell. A quarter of the producers are meat oriented, including specialities such as wild boar, venison, ostrich and wild game. Organic beef, chicken, lamb and pork are also offered. Other types of produce include fish (lobster in season) free-range eggs (including quail and duck eggs) cheese, oatmeal, seasonal fruit & vegetables, honey, ice cream and plants. In addition you'll find producers who bake and prepare their own farm products. Guest producers provide specialities including liqueurs, bread and chutneys.
Farmers' Markets bring you the best in Hampshire's food and drink, direct from the producers. At a Hampshire Farmers’ Market all produce being sold must have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, or processed within Hampshire or ten miles of the border. The producer, or someone directly involved with the production, must sell the produce themselves and no bought in produce is allowed.
Leicester Market is home to the largest covered market in Europe and is located in the heart of the city centre. Traders first came to the city with the Romans and the current market has been on the same site for 700 years. With over 270 stalls every day, there is plenty of variety, fresh produce and bargains.
Its important to us that farmers' markets are what they say they are; markets for farmers and local food producers to sell their produce. There should not be any wholesalers or middlemen nor any produce for sale that is not produced locally.
All of the markets we operate are independently certified by the National Association of Farmers Markets (now FARMA). We have our own strict set of rules which govern what can be sold and what cannot. We visit all new farmers and food producers who sell with us to check their standards and to make sure that they are producing the food they sell to you.
You can still buy a great selection of meat and fish here, and numerous cheeses, but the scope of trading has enlarged since the early days. Fruit and vegetable stalls still make colourful displays but much of the produce is now imported from all over the world. You will find all sorts of goods, clothes, records, pine furniture, a pet (?) and much, much, more.
As with many a market its smells are part of the atmosphere. It may be the smell of fresh ground coffee that draws you in for refreshment, but it could be the attractive displays of the tenants, flowers, fruit, and so on that prompts you to look for the unexpected or special gift. If the spice of life is variety, then it will be seen here.
At Perth Farmers' Market on the first Saturday of each month there is an abundance of fresh ingredients and quality products. From favourite comfort foods for the family to new and exciting recipe trends for dinner parties and friends, with Perth Farmers' Market, you really can make a meal of it.

The area has an abundance of natural resources available for farmers and producers. Trout and watercress are local specialities, and we produce award winning meats and cheeses. People in the area are looking for a return to quality, wholesome produce. From the first farmers' market in 1999 we have grown to 20 towns across the Thames Valley.
